Water, Water everywhere
Quiet time.
Time for introspection.
I spent a lot of it while on my flights to and from Ethiopia the last part of May (161/2 hrs each way!).
Water is in critical shortage in Ethiopia as it is in many developing countries. Everywhere you look there are plastic containers of one shape or another. Their purpose in every case to carry potable water. Children carrying them in their arms, women with them balanced on their heads and men on bicycles with several strapped on. Even in Addis Ababa - the capitol - the water from a tap is not drinkable - even at the Hilton Hotel!
Many people have to walk for hours/miles each way to have enough water to prepare meals, let alone the luxury of bathing !
In this country all we have to do is turn on the tap.
Consider this the next time you wash, drink, prepare a meal.
We are so fortunate to have the Great Lakes to be on, about and under - all that fresh water to luxuriate in!
Just thinking.
